I’m George, an IWJG vintage and pre-owned watch dealer and the author of the Infinite Breguet Substack. I source watches from around the world and supply them to watch stores, where collectors and enthusiasts can enjoy them.
Most of my inventory comes from other dealers, but a meaningful share of some of my most unusual vintage pieces still comes from eBay.
Why I built this
eBay used to be the place to source watches online. Most dealers relied on saved-search email alerts, set up through the eBay website, the app or third-party tools that offered more customization.
As more auction sites and marketplaces appeared, those alerts got noisier. At one point, I was getting 100–150 alerts a day, and 95–100% of them were duds I’d never bid on. Worst of all were re-listings: the same dud listing would come back again and again, wasting my time and attention every time it appeared.
So I built my own alert system.
What makes DibSearch different
Image filtering. At launch, DibSearch is designed to filter a later listing when the same seller reuses the byte-for-byte identical downloaded main-image file. This alone has saved me hours.
Longer searches. Each alert supports up to 600 characters, so you can exclude far more keywords with negative search terms.
Faster alerts. The Hunter plan checks for new listings every minute, so you see the good ones first.
AI assistant integration. Planned for launch: DibSearch will connect to ChatGPT and compatible AI assistants through MCP, so you can review listings conversationally—“Anything worth a look from today’s alerts?”—and set up or edit search alerts with typed or voice commands.
